Kai Tsujimura is a Nara Prefecture based ceramic artist who learned his craft as the son of the renowned Shiro Tsujimura. In 2001, he established his own kiln in the hills of Nara but began to learn the craft in 1994. Since then, he has exhibited extensively across Japan and in the United States. His work frequently demonstrates his skill in ash-glazing, wood-burning firings, and Egarasu glazing. His influences revolve around Momoyama era aesthetics as he creates functional worked informed heavily by materiality and tradition.
