Taki Nakazato is the son of the potter, Takashi Nakazato. Much like Takashi, Taki grew up in Karatsu, Japan and studied the family craft. In 1993, he held his first exhibition in Tokyo and has showed work in various exhibitions since. His work is deeply impacted by his effort to embody “the beauty of use” and strives to make work that will be used and enjoyed in daily life. The kiln he uses was founded by his Father, Takashi, and he continues to use the techniques of traditional Karatsu pottery to produce his table ware. While he tends to seek out more lively exhibition projects like restaurant collaborations, his work can also be seen in galleries across the world.
