Wasaburo Takahashi was made pots starting when he was 13 years old. He was the personal apprentice of Shimizu Uichi, a living national treasure of Japan. His work is recognized for its complex glaze surfaces mostly, in celadon and iron glaze, and beautiful form. In 1972, he became an independent ceramist and was awarded many prizes, one of which being at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition. His work has been exhibited across Japan and in his life held many workshops, lectures, and seminars. He passed away in 2014 and is remembered by many for the work he contributed to the craft.
